Andrés Felipe Uribe
Bogotá, Colombia (1982)
Andrés Felipe Uribe, artist and Fine Arts teacher at Jorge Tadeo Lozano University, implies cross-cutting techniques in his work, such as drawings, audio, video and performance art. Uribe’s work reveals problems with language and manages to mount a critique of power dynamics therein, seen from a semiotic perspective.
Since 2004, his work has been on display both nationally and internationally. In 2012, he won the IDARTES Crónica de Bogota prize. He has been a scholar at the Goethe Institute (2012), the Ministry of Culture in Colombia (2015 and 2016) and IDARTES (2015 and 2016). In addition to his work in the visual arts, he has issued various editorial publications.
