Espacio el Dorado was present in Chile’s most significant art fair, Ch.ACO. In 2017, the fair transpired in Vitacura, the commune where the first two instalments took place, and one of the city’s most recognised sectors due to its cultural activity.
This year the gallery presented Andrés Felipe Uribe Cárdenas and Gustavo Niño Blanco; two artists who construct their work around the method of repetition.
Andrés Felipe Uribe’s work is a comprehensive critique of language in different senses and media while paying total attention to the capital and institutional models that use it. The pieces exhibited this time, were made for the exhibition Los límites de mi mundo (The Limits of this World), exhibited in the gallery Espacio El Dorado between the 22nd of July and September 30th, 2017.
Gustavo Niño Blanco presents a series of paintings made in 2016 as a part of Transparencias y a su altura (Transparencies and at your level), a project that took place in the gallery during the months of May and June of the same year. The artist makes, starting from the accumulation of states and logic variations, a series of paintings that arise from exercises of observation and combination. These formats take shape in the construction of layers and levels.
